Summer Enrichment at Queens - SEEQ

GREAT new program for enrichment in August at Queens!
The Enrichment Studies Unit (ESU) at Queen s University, in Kingston, Ontario is pleased to bring to your attention our
new summer enrichment programs for students from grades 7 to 12.
Building on a successful pilot program last year which saw 60 students attend our first ever summer enrichment courses, we are expanding to offer two different programs this year. We encourage you to share this information with your students, their parents, teachers and student services/ guidance staff.
Summer Enrichment Experience at Queen s (SEEQ)
SEEQ is a one-week program running in August 2012 where students attend a week of enriched learning at Queen s. Students will study two courses based on a topic of interest. This program is running for two weeks, one of which is for local students (i.e. does not include meals or residence) while the residence week offer the full university experience of staying in a university dorm, eating in the cafeterias, and participating in evening activities each day. SEEQ is suitable for bright students who have completed grades 7 to 10 by this summer.
International Summer Enrichment Experience at Queen s (iSEEQ)
iSEEQ is a two-week non-credit program in July 2012 where students will study three inter-related courses during their time at Queen s. As well as evening activities, campus tours and down-time, this two-week program includes a trip to Ottawa to explore our nation s capital. We will visit Parliament, a selection of museums, and have ample free time to explore Ottawa, while staying overnight at the University of Ottawa. At Queen s, student will stay in a premium residence, eat in university cafeterias, and experience life as a Queen s University student. The iSEEQ program is designed for bright high school students (grades 9-12) and was developed as a result of requests from international schools, so we anticipate this will offer a unique blend of students from across Canada and beyond.
Information on both of these exciting new summer programs is available on our website; Go to http://esu.queensu.ca and click on Programs. Attached to this email are flyers for each program which you are welcome to share. Online registration opens April 1, 2012.
