Students get physically involved in multiple aspects of the Police Service.

17 possible weeks in Ottawa with students from across Canada!
Students choose a specific area of interest and are also in 4 modules: Linguistic Duality(Official Languages Support Program), Diversity, Racism and Multiculturalism, Peace (Veterans Affairs) & Youth Engagement (Exchanges Canada)
Students visit the House of Commons, Senate and tour the National Capital Region.
Fall Sessions include: Sports and Fitness – Sept 9 – 15, Oct 21 – 27, Nov 11 - 17

4.                  Halton Regional Youth Advisory Committee (HRYAC)
and Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee
IRHS has had members on HRYAC , connected to the community through this forum
Youth are needed to provide input to Halton Regional Council.

The theme of "Change"       May 12th - 16th, 2013

Cost: Program fee: $450
Supervised overnight shared residence accommodation: $120

Grade 11 program, March 2013

Design theme           March 10th - 15th , 2013
5 day program: dates may coincide with some school boards' March Break.
(Out-of-town arrivals: Sunday evening)

70 Shad Alumni won Millenium Scholarships, 21 Shad Alumni have been named as Rhodes Scholars since 1989.      Scholarships available, and more details at: www.shad.ca

8.                  Advanced Placement Exam Prep

Details to come in late October with a commitment required in late November.
Exams run first 2 full weeks of May.  Cost = $87.00 U.S.
