University of Toronto | Hi-Skule Design Competition

The free event will be held over the weekend of November 26-28th, starting on Friday the 26th at 6pm, and will continue until Sunday the 28th at 7pm. This event will be held virtually on Discord. Students will be working on a team of 3-5 people (which we encourage to be formed beforehand, or they will be assigned to a group at the start of the event) and have the whole weekend to develop a solution to the problem using the engineering design framework, and then record themselves presenting the solution. Presentations will be judged by alumni, and industry professionals. Groups with the best presentations will win prizes as well!

The event will feature a keynote speaker from one of the professors at the University of Toronto. Additionally, throughout the weekend there will be workshop sessions to develop the student's understanding of the engineering design process, and multiple opportunities to interact with current University of Toronto Engineering students where high school students will have the chance to chat and ask them questions about what being an engineering student is like! Finally, the event will feature the chance to meet multiple design teams, see many of the cool things that they are doing, and get a sense of how current students apply engineering design into more technical projects. If any students are interested, please direct them to sign up using the eventbrite link below! Registration is open and will be available until Tuesday November 23. Sign up soon as event space is limited and spots fill up quickly!

Of course, further details will be sent out to students who have registered. If you have any questions regarding this event, please do not hesitate to ask me. We hope you see many of your students there!
