Think About Math! (TAM) is designed to ignite enthusiasm in high school girls for mathematics. It is a workshop demonstrating that math is fun, relevant, and leads to exciting careers.
TAM participants will learn about the lifestyles and career paths of women who have graduated with a degree in mathematics. Girls will also participate in interactive labs and hands-on activities. We will explore the mathematics behind topics like computability, security and digital photo applications like SnapChat. All sessions will be led by University of Waterloo faculty members and professional businesswomen and businessmen.
Intended Audience
Young women in grade 9 or 10 who are interested in learning about opportunities in mathematics.Dates and Location
Successful candidates will be invited to attend one of the following one-day workshops.- Saturday April 7, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Toronto Prep School, 250 Davisville Ave., Toronto
- Friday April 13, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Davis Centre, University of Waterloo
- Saturday May 26, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Vancouver
