the Government of Ontario and Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) re-launched the Young Entrepreneurs, Make Your Pitch high school competition in September. Young Entrepreneurs, Make Your Pitch challenges Ontario students in Grades 9-12 to pitch their best business ideas in a two-minute video.
All finalists will receive a trip to Toronto, expert training, and will present their pitch at OCE's Discovery conference hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Six competition winners also receive reserved entry into Summer Company to develop their business idea (worth up to $3,000 in start-up funding). Last year the competition received 204 entries from high school students across Ontario. The businesses represented a variety of ideas, from an eco-friendly coffee house to innovative apps that connect communities.
