Wharton Global Youth Program - University of Pennsylvania

 


For Summer 2023, students will be able to choose between an expanded lineup of learning opportunities on Wharton's Philadelphia and San Francisco campuses as well as rich academic experiences online. 

Explore business fundamentals right at home with Wharton instructors and peers around the world.

Wharton Global Youth’s Online Programs are interactive, pre-collegiate experiences for students currently enrolled in grades 9–12. Led by Wharton faculty and instructional staff, these programs explore topics driven by Wharton research and teaching, and have been adapted specifically for the virtual classroom. Students engage with our rigorous business education while studying and networking with global peers, all before they head to college.

The Optimist Club of Oakville Annual Oratorical Contest

 

The topic this year is: “Discovering the Optimism within Me”.

 

Entrants must be under 19 years of age by October 1 2022 and have not yet graduated from high school. Interested students should prepare a 4-5 minute speech on the assigned topic.


Completed applications (birth certificate, application form, typed copy of speech) must be received by Wednesday March 8th, 2023 at midnight to email michelle@opnc.ca and have “Optimist Oratorical” in the subject line.


The approved successful speeches to move forward will be presented by the students to our club members on Monday March 27th 2023 at 6pm at our Headquarters at 1151 Bronte Rd Oakville.

 

Cash prizes of 1st Place $500.00, 2nd Place $350.00 and 3rd Place $150.00 will be awarded by the Club.

The top two contestants will represent Oakville at the Zone competition with the opportunity to advance to the District level where the top three contestants will be awarded scholarships in the amounts of $2500$1500and $1000. The winner of the District level will advance to compete at the World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. Scholarships in the amount of $15,000$10,000and $5,000 will be given to the first, second, and third place winners of this event. The ultimate winner will receive over $22,500 in scholarships.

 

 

This contest is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Oakville, which has been serving Oakville youth since 1948. The contest is designed to give students an opportunity to share their opinions. The speech can relate to a young person’s personal experience, the experience of the community or a researched perspective. In addition to developing skills for critical thinking and oral expression, participants have the opportunity to win a college scholarship! Blueprint 2023 Announcement! | U of T Engineering Outreach

 



Greetings from the Office of Engineering Outreach,

The University of Toronto Engineering Outreach is pleased to announce that we will be offering the Blueprint Program for the fourth consecutive year. This year, this program will be hosted on the St. George campus.


Blueprint is a free academic enrichment program designed for highly motivated Black students in Grades 10 and 11 who are interested in pursuing degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math, with a strong focus on engineering. The program includes four weeks of summer academic programming and continued community engagement including monthly webinars, workshops, and socials. 

 

Applications are now open and will close on March 24th, 2023.

Hack The Ridge

We are very excited to announce that Hack The Ridge will be returning this year on Saturday, December 10th. Hack The Ridge is our annual all-day programming competition. All experience levels are welcome, and we’ll have workshops for both beginner and advanced hackers at the event. Winter AI Project-Building Program Led by Stanford/MIT Graduates

 


Inspirit AI is a 25-hour enrichment program that introduces students to fundamental applied math and artificial intelligence concepts to build socially impactful projects such as fake news detection, COVID-spread prediction, art-generation, self-driving car simulation, and more! Students learn in small-group classrooms and no programming experience is required, with advanced cohorts available! Applications for winter courses are due December 15.
