Student Exchange Program

 

Canadian Education Exchange Foundation (CEEF)

The Canadian Education Exchange Foundation (CEEF) student exchange program is designed to enhance language proficiency and awareness of other cultures, foster global awareness and promote personal growth and development. They are school based programs and take place for the most part during the school year. WCI students are matched with a student from another country and they host each other in their homes. Visiting students arrive in August for 3 months and Ontario students leave in February and return 3 months later. The cost for the program is approx. $2000.

A student wishing to participate in the CEEF program must:

• Be enrolled in a secondary school for the entire school year of the exchange
• Have an above average academic record
• Be between 14 and 17 during the entire school year of the exchange
• Meet the language requirements stipulated for his/her chosen destination
• Demonstrate an interest in the history and culture of the selected exchange country
• Have his/her principals signature of approval on the application form

There are two types of Rotary Exhanges:

1. A long term exchange usually last for an academic year, during which the student lives with more than one family and attends school in the host country.
2. A short term exchange varies from several days to several weeks. They often take place when school is not in session and usually do not include an academic program. Rotary exchanges are available in 20 different countries to students aged 15-17 years.

Summer Architecture and Design programs @ U of T

Daniels Design Discovery (Online) – Summer 2022 (ages 15-18+ years old) The Daniels Design Discovery (Online) provides a comprehensive introduction to the discipline of architecture, giving you the opportunity to experience different ways of seeing, thinking, and making through the lens of design. The program will develop your skills in a broad range of design tools and techniques, providing a strong foundation to explore your creative potential. (Four 1-week courses) 

 Daniels Design Discovery (In-Person) – Summer 2022 (ages 15-18+ years old) For anyone interested in a future career in design, the Daniels Design Discovery (In-Person) is a great opportunity to experience the intensive studio culture that characterizes most architecture programs. Our programs allow participants to build up a collection of drawings and models that will complement an admissions portfolio. Students are able to use the design facilities at the Daniels Building at 1 Spadina Crescent (Two 2-week courses)
