MATH@MAC DAY FOR STUDENTS GRADES 10, 11, AND 12




This event will include a series of interactive mathematics activities and presentations. Designed to be inclusive and fun, the day will feature individual and team prizes for a variety of problems that should appeal to a wide range of interests and abilities. Plan to bring an entire class or a group of interested students from various levels.

9 - 9:25 Registration
9:30 - 10:20 Interactive presentation (speaker and topic TBA)
10:30 - 11:20 Problem-solving session in small groups (includes the usual competition and, as time permits, additional problem solving activities)
11:30 - 12:20 Lunch break
12:30 - 1:20 Interactive presentation, part 2 (speaker and topic TBA)
1:30 End of the formal program

Annual McMaster Brain Bee

High school students in the Hamilton-Halton and surrounding area from grades 9 through 12 are welcome to compete at the local brain bee.  Students demonstrate their knowledge about the brain and neuroscience, including fascinating topics involving intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movement, stress, aging, sleep, addiction, and more. Participating is a valuable experience that you can add to your resume — not to mention the possibility of winning prizes and fame!
All the questions will come from Neuroscience: Science of the Brain.
