1.      Brain Bee at McMaster Wednesday April 09, 2014
High school students in the Hamilton-Halton and surrounding area from grades 9 through 12 are welcome to compete!  Students will demonstrate their knowledge about the brain and neuroscience, including fascinating topics involving intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movement, stress, aging, sleep, addiction, and more.  Participating is a valuable experience that you can add to your resume -- not to mention the possibility of winning prizes and fame!
Register online asap – and then let Ms. Patterson know you are competing!

Congratulations to everyone -- the 2012 McMaster Brain Bee was a great success

Iroquois Ridge High School cleaned up tin 2012 winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.  Awesome work -- congratulations!!!   Manjot Sangha (1st place), Tina Yuan (3rd place), and Alicia Rajwani (2nd place).  Congratulations to Manjot, who represented us at the 5th Annual CIHR Canadian National Brain Bee,

In 2013 IRHS again came home with accolades:
Jae Eun Lee (Iroquois Ridge High School) won 2nd place – way to go!!!    
Everyone else who participated also did very well J

The Queen's Leadership, Excellence, and Development Conference brings together 120 student leaders each year to Kingston Ontario, the home of the prestigious Queen's School of Business. QLEAD 2013 is taking place from November 7-10 this year. We are contacting you because your school has been identified as a centre for student leadership.

Public Speaking Contest information for 2014!

All Secondary Students are invited to participate in this 2014 HDSB Public Speaking event.

There are prizes for the Students who participate.

The event will be held on

 6:30 PM in the South-Cafeteria

Prosperity One Credit Union  is supporting this HDSB event and will be providing a trophy for the winning school and cash prizes for the winning Students.
Please respond to let me know if you would like to represent your High School and participate in this HDSB event.
Students can choose their own topics to present.

The speech should be 3 to 6 minutes in length.
The speech is judged on Delivery , Content , and Overall Impression.

Judges may be volunteers from the Toastmaster Clubs in Halton.
